Abstract
Empagliflozin is a Sodium-Glucose Co-transporter-2 (SGLT-2) inhibitor that regulates blood glucose levels by reducing renal glucose reabsorption and thus increasing urinary glucose excretion. Empagliflozin is commonly used for the antidiabetic agents in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. However, empagliflozin is associated with a genital infection in
woman because of increasing urinary glucose excretion. We report a case of patient with genital infection which initially
occurred after starting empagliflozin therapy.
